The Lake Travis Colorguard is an auxiliary dancing/spinning unit that performs as part of the LTHS Cavalier Marching Band in the fall and as their own competitive units JV and Varsity inside a gym during the winter season.

The Lake Travis Colorguard program, providing a visual representation of what is performed on the field during our marching season, is an integral part of the Cavalier Marching Band. In the spring, the Lake Travis Colorguard sustains two high school winterguards and a cadet guard. The Lake Travis Colorguard is a consistent Texas Colorguard Circuit State Finalist and a WGI Regional Finalist. The Cadet Guard is the 2023 Cadet Novice Bronze Medalist and the 2024 Cadet Regional A Silver Medalist.

FALL GUARD

The Lake Travis Cavalier Color Guard is part of the Lake Travis High School Band organization. The Color Guard, sometimes referred to simply as the "Guard," works to enhance the music that the band plays through visual performance. The Color Guard is the primary visual component of the Marching Band in the fall as part of its competitive show. They dance using Jazz, Ballet, Modern, & Contemporary techniques and we spin flags, rifles, and sabres in combination with these dance styles.

WINTER GUARD

In the winter and early spring, the team splits into two teams (JV and Varsity) to prepare competitive indoor productions on their own. They have their own set and a large tarp that covers the gym floor as a stage, and they have their own recorded music (usually a popular song), and much more intricate choreography. These shows are performed inside on the basketball court. This activity is known as Winter Guard and competes from late January to early April.
